Instagram Live broadcasts was available to viewers only during their broadcast that is when ‘Live’
marker appeared on the users’ Stories bubble. Though, the users have been given the option to save the
video of their Instagram Live broadcast to their camera roll which could be re-uploads but now, with
the new option to send the video directly to IGTV, it can be an opportunity to earn benefits and
increased engagements, noticing the hype of IGTV on Instagram.
This option can emerge to help build the IGTV content library for the user. Since, Instagram recently
launching monetization options for the platform, it shall be a way out that can provide monetary
benefits to both IGTV and the highly reclaimed creators leading to increased viewers thus, facilitating a
boon from such revenue option.
It’s can also help to maximize the value and demand of the contents existing on the platform and thus,
leading to more such creations with a wide variety of broadcasts.
There are some limitations which are put into the mechanism of this new option, such as:
- Live video replays won’t include any likes or comments from your original live video
- The number of viewers for your live video will restart once you share it to IGTV
- You won’t be able to edit or trim your live video before sharing it to IGTV
Video would be uneditable which could be an issue in the long run for creators. The original Likes and
comments may affect the turning up of the potential audience which can adversely affect the
reputation. The live answers would sound illogical as the names and notes of the viewers and
interrogations made by them would not be displayed.
Thus, in such cases, it is preferable to download the live video and edit it in order to fit it to IGTV. But
the new option provides an easier way for creators to directly upload their live videos on IGTV to
maximize the viewerships.
Instagram claims that the ‘Share to IGTV’ option is available to all its users.
